"I'm Not Dropping Out of This Race" | Alani Bankhead

Original air date: June 8, 2026 After a call with a survivor whose abuser was never fully held accountable, Alani Bankhead on why she's staying in: to make Montana safer and more affordable. I just got off the phone with a woman who survived horrific abuse, and the person who hurt her was never held fully accountable. It wasn’t because the detectives or prosecutors on her case failed her. They were amazing. They fought for justice every step of the way. It was because the law wasn’t strong enough to protect her - physically or legally. These are the stories that keep me up at night, not political drama or polls. Protecting this woman, and the thousands of Montanans carrying similar pain, is what actually matters. I’ve been in life-and-death situations. Whether people think I should stay in this race or drop out is far down my list of concerns. What drives this campaign is that her story isn’t unique. Too many people have reached out with experiences just like hers. There are career politicians on both sides of the aisle who want me to lose because they know I’m going to fight to make Montana safer and more affordable. That’s what I’ve spent the last 20 years doing. After this primary, you sent a clear message: you want someone with the backbone to lead, to inspire, and to rebuild trust. I’m honored you’ve chosen me to carry that fight. And I’m not dropping out of this race. Pay attention to the people trying to tear this campaign down. Too often, they’re the same people willing to hand our communities over to the rich and powerful. They’re afraid you’ll realize something important: they may have the money, but we have the people. So join us. Fight for Montana with us. My name is Alani Bankhead, and I’m running for the United States Senate to represent the people of Montana.
